Unit 4

1.1 outline why it is important to deal with people who are injured or ill promptly, calmly

and correctly.

Because the injury or illness may be life threatening or life changing. It is therefore very important to attend to it quickly.

1.2 identify the broad types of injury and illness that may occur.

Broken bones, Allergies, Asama attacks, head injuries, cuts, excessive drinking 

1.3 outline how to deal with injuries and illnesses on a ‘first on scene’ basis.

Make sure the injured/ill person is okay, clear the area, call for help, dont move the person unless they are at risk of further injury.

1.4 state the types of information and support that should be given to qualified assistance.

if they are conscious or not, their pulse if possible, their airways is clear or not , breathing or not, and their name and age and any other info you may be able to gather before they arrive. 

1.5 outline why it is important to report accidents and incidents.

so they are put in the incident log and so that you are covered if anyone is to get further injury after the event and tries to sue. 

1.6 identify the typical procedures for reporting accidents and incidents.

Write in the incident report book what happened and where why it happened and how. and what the conclusion of the incident is. 

2.1 outline why it is important to respond to emergencies promptly, calmly and

correctly.

Because the injury or illness may be life threatening or life changing. It is therefore very important to attend to it quickly.

2.2 identify the types of emergency that may occur.

Broken bones, Allergies, Asama attacks, head injuries, cuts, excessive drinking .

2.3 outline the procedures for responding to emergencies.

Make sure the injured/ill person is okay, clear the area, call for help, dont move the person unless they are at risk of further injury.

2.4 identify the different roles and responsibilities of people in a workplace for each type

of emergency.

First aider, incident reporter, incident manager.

2.5 list the types of problems that may occur during emergency procedures.

you may find out they are diabetic which will then make the incident even more serious.

They are bleeding or have broken something, or have a open fracture. Not breathing this is serious and needs urgent help. 

2.6 outline how to respond to problems during emergency procedures.

Calmly, efficiently, quickly, accurately and make sure the patient is getting the best possible help. 

2.7 state why problems with emergency procedures should be reported.

All incidents need reporting so that incase of someone trying to sue the event of person who dealt with them, so logging this is very important so that you can recall the exact events what happened on the day of the incident.
